Dell 1800FP Repair

SYMPTOM: NO POWER


PROBLEM:  ICE2AS01 CHIP (Current Mode PWM Controller 8-Pin PDIP)


SOLUTION: Replace ICE2as01 and re-solder diodes D903 and D906 in the secondary of power supply. The diodes are the two mounted to a heatsink. These are the reason the 2AS01 goes out in the first place. The solder joints on these two diodes breaks loose. If you don't solder them, the 2AS01 will go out again.
